CVE-2023-2944Network attack vector

Authenticated address-book access via missing ACL check

Published May 27, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025

Improper access control in OpenEMR before 7.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to view and modify address-book records. The interface/usergroup/addrbook_edit.php endpoint processes address-book reads and writes without the admin/practice ACL check added by the patch. Any logged-in user can therefore bypass the intended practice-administration boundary and view or change address-book entries.
