CVE-2023-2938Network attack vector

Omnibox spoofing via Picture-in-Picture content

Published May 30, 2023 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

UI spoofing in Google Chrome before 114.0.5735.90 allows remote attackers with a compromised renderer to falsify the Omnibox via crafted HTML. Google identifies Picture in Picture as the locus but has not disclosed the code path or incorrect operation that misrepresents the trusted URL display. Exploitation requires renderer compromise and user interaction with the crafted page; the documented consequence is false URL information in browser chrome.
