SYSTEM privilege escalation via use-after-free
Published Jun 13, 2023 · Updated Jan 1, 2025
Use-after-free in the Cloud Files Mini Filter Driver in affected Microsoft Windows releases allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges. The driver accesses memory after freeing it, but Microsoft has not disclosed the affected routine or the attacker-controlled operation that triggers reuse. A low-privileged user must execute code locally; successful exploitation grants complete control of the affected host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
