Arbitrary code execution via Net API bypass
Published Aug 10, 2023 · Updated May 28, 2026
Improper access control in Adobe Acrobat Reader 23.003.20244 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a malicious file. Net-object handling fails to restrict access to a protected JavaScript API, allowing a document to bypass the API blacklist. Opening the file or visiting a malicious page is required, and successful exploitation runs code in the current user's process context; Reader 2020 20.005.30467 and earlier is also affected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
