Memory disclosure via unchecked QXD decoding bounds
Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe InDesign 18.3 and earlier and 17.4.1 and earlier allows attackers to disclose memory via a crafted QXD file. The affected QXD-decoding plugin fails to validate bounds before reading from a malformed QuarkXPress Drawing file. Exploitation requires a victim to open the file, exposing sensitive process memory that can assist an ASLR bypass, without reported data modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
