Memory disclosure via malformed QXD file decoding
Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe InDesign 18.3 and earlier and 17.4.1 and earlier allows attackers to disclose memory via a QXD file. The QuarkXPress Drawing decoder omits a bounds check when processing a malformed QXD file and reads beyond the intended memory boundary. Exploitation requires a victim to open the file, exposing sensitive process memory and helping attackers bypass ASLR.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
