CVE-2023-29301Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator credential discovery via unrestricted lockdown endpoint

Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025

Improper attempt limiting in Adobe ColdFusion affected releases allows remote attackers to discover valid administrator credentials. The IPFilterUtils path allowlist omits /CFIDE/lockdown, so lockdown.cfc accepts credential checks from otherwise blocked addresses. In 2018 Update 16 and earlier, 2021 Update 6 and earlier, and 2023.0.0.330468, no prior access or user interaction is required to test passwords and disclose valid credentials.
