Heap corruption via Extensions use-after-free
Published May 30, 2023 · Updated May 5, 2025
Use-after-free in Google Chrome Extensions before 114.0.5735.90 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory through crafted HTML. Public vendor materials identify the Extensions component but do not disclose the freed object or invalid lifetime operation that leaves it reachable. Exploitation requires a user to install a malicious extension and then process a crafted HTML page, exposing the browser process to heap corruption.
