Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via unchecked oldpic path
Published May 27, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Path traversal in SeaCMS 11.6 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files through a crafted oldpic value. In member.php, the picture upload handler deletes the attacker-controlled oldpic path without restricting it to the uploaded avatar. A registered session is required; successful exploitation deletes a chosen file beneath the application root and can interrupt the service.
