CVE-2023-29259Network attack vector

Information disclosure via missing cookie SameSite attribute

Published Jul 19, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2024

Improper cookie configuration in IBM Sterling Connect:Express for UNIX 1.5.x allows remote attackers to disclose information through its browser UI. The browser UI sets sensitive cookies without the SameSite attribute, allowing browsers to attach them to cross-site requests. Successful exploitation depends on a browser sending an affected cookie cross-site; IBM reports confidentiality impact only and does not identify the exposed data.
