Ranking manipulation in the Twitter Recommendation Algorithm through ec83d01 allows attackers to reduce a target account's reputation. The ranking logic applies global penalties from unfollow, mute, block, and report signals, allowing coordinated accounts to drive the target's reputation multiplier downward. The behavior requires control or coordination of multiple authenticated accounts, and the vendor states that these ranking effects are an intentional design decision rather than a security flaw.
