Code execution via unescaped logger name
Published Apr 17, 2023 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Eval injection in XWiki Platform allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted logging-administration URL. LoggingAdmin.xml interpolates the logger_name request parameter into XWiki-rendered success and error messages without escaping XWiki syntax. Exploitation requires a user with programming rights to visit the URL, and the injected Groovy runs with that user's authority.
