CVE-2023-29206Network attack vector

Stored script execution via unchecked extension authors

Published Apr 15, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025

Stored XSS in XWiki Platform 3.0-milestone-1 through 14.8 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts through crafted JSX or SSX objects. AbstractDocumentSkinExtensionPlugin accepted current-page JavaScript and StyleSheet extension objects without checking whether the document author held Script right. An editor must store the object and a user with sufficient rights must load it, allowing the script to act with that viewer's session privileges.
