Open redirect via incomplete absolute-URL recognition
Published Apr 15, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
Open redirect in XWiki Platform allows remote attackers to send users to an external site via crafted xredirect values on login or logout. XWikiServletResponse.sendRedirect recognizes only scheme strings containing :// as absolute, so //host and http:/host forms bypass the trusted-domain check. Exploitation is unauthenticated but requires a user to follow a crafted internal-looking link, enabling phishing without reported server data modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
