CVE-2023-29200Network attack vector

File-name disclosure via unvalidated Ajax folder path

Published Apr 25, 2023 · Updated Feb 3, 2025

Path traversal in affected Contao releases allows remote authenticated users to list arbitrary system file names through the file manager. The DC_Folder::ajaxTreeView method accepted the Ajax folder argument without validating its path or confirming that the directory was mounted. Back-end authentication is required, and exposure is limited to file names because the interface cannot read file contents.
