CVE-2023-29183Network attack vector

Authenticated browser code execution via guest settings

Published Sep 13, 2023 · Updated Dec 16, 2025

Stored cross-site scripting in the FortiOS and FortiProxy GUI allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a viewer's browser. The guest-management settings page stores attacker-controlled setting content and renders it without neutralizing browser-active markup. A low-privileged authenticated user must save a crafted setting and another user must view the affected page, enabling browser-context data access or actions with that viewer's permissions.
