CVE-2023-29179Network attack vector

Denial of service via malformed SSL-VPN requests

Published Feb 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Null pointer dereference in Fortinet FortiOS and FortiProxy allows remote authenticated users to cause denial of service via crafted HTTP requests. The SSLVPNd proxy endpoint dereferences a null pointer while processing a specially crafted HTTP request; Fortinet has not disclosed the responsible function or field. A low-privileged authenticated network user can reach the endpoint without user interaction, and the reported impact is limited to service availability.
