Federated credential disclosure via unencrypted Basic authentication
Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
Insufficient credential protection in PTC Vuforia Studio before 9.9 allows remote attackers to read federated credentials in transit. The local web application accepts only HTTP and sends federated credentials in Basic Authentication headers without transport encryption. An attacker must be able to observe the network path between the local application and its service; exposure is limited to the transmitted credentials.
