Arbitrary file read via HTTPS API path traversal
Published Jul 18, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Path traversal in Rockwell Automation ThinManager ThinServer 13.0.0 through 13.0.2 and 13.1.0 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files. The optional HTTPS API accepts manipulated path variables without restricting resolution to an authorized directory. The API is disabled by default; exposure requires it to be enabled, and access is limited to files readable with ThinServer filesystem privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
