CVE-2023-29109Network attack vector

Formula execution via unsanitized custom hint export

Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 7, 2025

Excel formula injection in SAP Application Interface Framework Message Dashboard allows remote authenticated users to execute formulas in exported workbooks. The Excel export path fails to neutralize formula-leading content placed in fields such as the Tooltip of the Custom Hints List. Exploitation requires an authorized user to inject the content and a victim to open the downloaded workbook, causing limited data disclosure or modification.
