Authenticated file deletion via path traversal
Published May 31, 2023 · Updated Jan 9, 2025
Path traversal in EZ Sync on ASUSTOR ADM allows remote authenticated users to delete files outside the intended directory. The service inadequately validates a user-supplied path before file deletion, allowing directory-navigation sequences to escape the intended directory. A low-privileged network account is required, and successful exploitation deletes files accessible to the EZ Sync service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=4.0 <=4.0.6.REG2
- Affected versionversion=4.1 <=4.1.0.RLQ1
