Service interruption via malformed SIP Session-Expires header
Published Apr 14, 2023 · Updated Feb 7, 2025
Memory corruption in Samsung Exynos modem SIP decoding allows remote attackers to interrupt cellular service via a Session-Expires header. The SIP decoder in IMSPL_SipDecode.c applies insufficient length validation before placing the header value in a stack buffer, causing an out-of-bounds write. No authentication or user interaction is required, but exploitation affects availability only and depends on a reachable SIP path to the baseband.
