Code execution via crafted CATPART file parsing
Published Nov 23, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Autodesk AutoCAD 2021 through 2024 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted CATPART file. The CATPART parser writes beyond a memory boundary while processing attacker-controlled file data; Autodesk has not disclosed the affected routine. An affected application must parse the file, after which exploitation can crash the process, expose sensitive data, or run code in that process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
