CVE-2023-28962Network attack vector

Unauthenticated file upload via J-Web authentication bypass

Published Apr 17, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025

Improper authentication in Juniper Networks Junos OS J-Web allows remote attackers to upload arbitrary files to device temporary folders. The upload-file.php endpoint accepts network file-upload requests without authenticating the requester and writes supplied files into temporary storage. J-Web must be enabled and network-reachable; the published impact is unauthorized temporary-file creation, not execution.
