Authenticated service interruption via malformed request
Published Jul 10, 2023 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Improper input validation in IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog on Cloud Pak for Data 4.x allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The service accepts a specially crafted request without adequate validation, but IBM has not disclosed the affected handler, malformed field, or failure mode. Valid application credentials and network access are required, and the documented consequence is limited to service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
