Command injection in JOYNEXT MIB3 OI MQB 0 through 0304 allows local users to gain root access through the networking service. A custom IPC procedure in tsd.networking.mib3 passes partially controlled input to popen without sanitizing shell metacharacters. A process able to initialize the unprivileged IPC mechanism can inherit the service's CAP_SYS_MODULE capability, load a kernel module, and obtain unrestricted root access.
