CVE-2023-28901Network attack vector

Trip and telemetry disclosure via unchecked VIN

Published Jan 18, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025

Broken access control in Škoda Connect allows remote attackers to read trip and telemetry data by supplying an arbitrary vehicle VIN. The cloud backend uses the caller-supplied VIN to select a vehicle record without checking that the requester is permitted to access that vehicle. No authentication or user interaction is required; disclosure is limited to recorded details such as trip times, mileage, fuel use, and speed.
