Database compromise via unvalidated search result limit
Published Mar 27, 2023 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
Blind SQL injection in Cerebrate 1.13 allows remote attackers to read or alter database contents through the searchAll API endpoint. InstanceController::searchAll passes the limit query parameter to database searches without enforcing numeric input; the patch validates it and adds an integer type. No authentication or user interaction is required, and crafted limit values can extract or alter records and interrupt the service.
