Authenticated comment deletion via unchecked commentId
Published Dec 6, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Broken access control in FileRun through Update 20220202 allows remote authenticated users to delete other users' file comments. The comment-removal endpoint accepts a caller-supplied commentId and deletes the referenced comment without verifying that the requester owns the comment or its file. Any signed-in FileRun user with a valid session and CSRF token can alter another user's comment data, while file contents remain unaffected.
