Cross-request data disclosure via canceled AsyncIO commands
Published Mar 26, 2023 · Updated Feb 20, 2025
Information disclosure in redis-py 4.2.0 through 4.4.3 and 4.5.0 through 4.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to read unrelated responses. The AsyncIO client keeps a canceled command's connection open with its response unread, allowing the pool to reuse that connection for a different request. Exploitation requires command cancellation during the response timing window; the resulting cross-request mix-up exposes response data without changing it or interrupting the service.
