Restricted database access via query setting bypass
Published Jun 1, 2023 · Updated Jan 9, 2025
Server-side request forgery in CONTEC CONPROSYS HMI System before 3.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to access restricted databases. The query settings page fails to enforce its database destination restriction, causing the server to connect to a database outside the intended set. Administrative product access is required; successful exploitation exposes database content and, according to CONTEC, permits data theft or tampering.
