CVE-2023-28819Network attack vector

Stored script execution via unsanitized uploaded names

Published Apr 28, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stored XSS in uploaded names in Concrete CMS 8.5.12 and earlier and 9.0.0 through 9.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to run script. The file and folder name rendering path inserts attacker-controlled names into pages without sanitization, causing a later viewer's browser to interpret embedded markup as script. Exploitation requires elevated CMS privileges to upload or name an item and interaction by a later page viewer, exposing or modifying data in that viewer's session.
