Buffer overflow in Hikvision LocalServiceComponents 1.0.0.78 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted messages. The published CWE mapping identifies an unchecked buffer copy, but Hikvision has not disclosed the message parser, destination buffer, or vulnerable function. The plug-in must be installed and reachable for message processing; exploitation requires no authentication or user interaction and can execute code or crash the plug-in process.
