CVE-2023-28810

Network configuration modification via crafted adjacent packets

Published Jun 15, 2023 · Updated Dec 12, 2024

Improper access control in six Hikvision access-control terminal families allows physically proximate attackers to alter device network settings. The network-configuration interface accepts specially formed packets without authorization and writes the device IP address, gateway, or network mask. Exploitation requires a computer on the same switch or router; it cannot occur over the internet or take over the terminal, but can interrupt network-dependent calls or lift use.
