Unauthenticated command execution via configuration parser
Published Jul 17, 2023 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
OS command injection in Zyxel firewall firmware allows remote attackers to execute operating system commands via crafted configuration data. The configuration parser fails to sanitize user-controlled input before writing it into device configuration data. Exploitation requires LAN access and cloud management mode to be enabled, and successful injection grants command execution on the appliance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=5.10 <=5.36
