CVE-2023-28765Network attack vector

BI credential disclosure via decryptable LCMBIAR files

Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 7, 2025

Information disclosure in SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform Promotion Management 420 and 430 allows remote authenticated users to obtain BI passwords. Promotion Management permits basic-privileged users to obtain an LCMBIAR export file whose protected contents can be decrypted, exposing stored BI user credentials. Exploitation requires a valid low-privilege BI account; recovered passwords carry the compromised BI users' privileges and can enable complete application compromise.
