CVE-2023-28729

Code execution via incompatible resource access

Published Jul 21, 2023 · Updated Oct 24, 2024

Type confusion in Panasonic Control FPWIN Pro 7.6.0.3 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code when a crafted project file is opened. The project-file parser initializes a pointer, object, or variable as one type and later accesses it as an incompatible type; the precise code locus is undisclosed. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted file, and the flaw is not reachable through a remote service.
