Arbitrary file read via unsanitized connection host
Published Apr 7, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Improper input validation in Apache Airflow Drill Provider before 2.3.2 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a crafted host. DrillHook.get_conn() concatenates the stored connection host into a SQLAlchemy engine URL without rejecting slash or ampersand characters. Exploitation requires attacker influence over a Drill connection host; the resulting URL confusion exposes files readable by the Airflow process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
