CVE-2023-28697Network attack vector

Unauthenticated system control via settings interface

Published Apr 27, 2023 · Updated Jan 31, 2025

Improper access control in Moxa MiiNePort E1 1.7.2 allows remote attackers to alter settings or stop services via the network. The management interface fails to enforce authorization before permitting entry to system settings, where requests can view, modify, or terminate services. No credentials are required, so an attacker able to reach the device interface can change configuration or interrupt operation; the advisory does not describe a separate persistence or data-exfiltration mechanism.
