Stored XSS via unescaped report filenames
Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Stored XSS in Jenkins Project Cppcheck Plugin 1.26 and earlier allows attackers to execute script via crafted Cppcheck reports. The plugin inserts filenames parsed from report files into Jenkins UI output without escaping them for the surrounding HTML context. Exploitation requires control of report contents and a user to view the results, exposing data and actions available to that browser session.
