CVE-2023-28677Network attack vector

Code execution via concatenated Pipeline step invocations

Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025

Command injection in Jenkins Convert To Pipeline Plugin 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted job. The plugin concatenates untrusted Build Environment, Build Step, and Post-build Action values into unsandboxed Pipeline step invocations without neutralization. Exploitation requires permission to configure a Freestyle project and an administrator to convert it, which pre-approves the injected script.
