CVE-2023-28668Network attack vector

Excess access via stale disabled-permission cache

Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025

Incorrect permission checks in Jenkins Role-based Authorization Strategy Plugin 587.v2872c41fa_e51 and earlier allow attackers excess access. RoleMap's unbounded implication cache includes permissions without checking getEnabled() and never refreshes entries after that flag changes. Exploitation requires a permission to have been assigned directly or through a group before an administrator disables it; the affected account then retains access beyond its current authorization.
