Authenticated SQL injection via unescaped AJAX value
Published Mar 22, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
SQL injection in AccessPress Themes WP Popup Banners 1.2.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter database queries. The get_popup_data AJAX action inserts the unescaped value parameter into an SQL statement, allowing crafted input to change query semantics. A WordPress account with subscriber privileges and a valid session cookie is sufficient; the published proof of concept demonstrates a database-controlled response delay.
