Script execution via unescaped event-graph tooltips
Published Mar 18, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025
Cross-site scripting in MISP before 2.4.169 allows remote attackers to execute script in a viewer's browser via event-graph node tooltips. app/webroot/js/event-graph.js assigns node-derived labels and attribute values to tooltip title fields without HTML escaping. Exploitation requires a user to view an event graph containing attacker-controlled node data; script execution can read or alter data available to that browser session.
