CVE-2023-28598Network attack vector

Application crash via chat HTML injection

Published Jun 13, 2023 · Updated Jan 2, 2025

HTML injection in Zoom for Linux before 5.13.10 allows remote attackers to crash the application after a victim starts a chat. Zoom identifies chat as the delivery context but has not published the affected function or how attacker-controlled HTML bypasses neutralization. The victim must initiate the chat with the malicious user; the documented consequence is an application crash, with no reported data access or code execution.
