CVE-2023-28579

Memory corruption via unchecked PMK length

Published Dec 5, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024

A buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon WLAN Host allows local users with high privileges to corrupt memory through a crafted PMK cache entry. setPmkCacheInternal deserializes PMK bytes into an rsn_pmk_cache_entry without validating the PMK length, while deserializePmkCacheEntry omits a serialized-entry size check. High local privileges and access to the PMK cache-setting path are required; the documented consequence is WLAN Host memory corruption.
