Audio interruption via channel-buffer over-read
Published Aug 8, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Buffer over-read in Qualcomm Snapdragon Audio firmware allows remote attackers to interrupt audio decoding through crafted media. The media-codec decoder reads beyond the valid channel buffer while remapping it; Qualcomm has not disclosed the malformed field or boundary error. No privileges or user interaction are required, and successful exploitation causes a transient service interruption rather than data disclosure or modification.
