A buffer over-read in Qualcomm Snapdragon Data Modem firmware allows local users with low privileges to corrupt modem memory via a DMA event. The Data Modem mishandles a DMA buffer release event for channel-frequency-response data and reads beyond the allocated buffer. Reachability requires local low-privileged access; successful exploitation can expose or alter modem-resident data and interrupt modem operation.
