Browser script execution via unsanitized attachment filenames
Published Jun 26, 2023 · Updated Dec 4, 2024
Stored XSS in WeKan before 6.75 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through crafted attachment filenames. The renameAttachment method accepts a BoardAdmin-controlled filename without blocking HTML or script payloads rendered by the file-preview interface. BoardAdmin access on the attacker's own board is sufficient, and execution requires another user to open the affected preview, exposing that user's WeKan browser context to unauthorized data access or actions.
