Unauthenticated SQL execution via concatenated search terms
Published Mar 20, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
SQL injection in Gentoo Linux Soko before 1.0.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL through the package search q parameter. The Search and SearchFeed handlers pass BuildSearchQuery output and a concatenated search term to go-pg as SQL text instead of bound values. Authentication is not required; stacked queries can alter database records, and a superuser PostgreSQL container also permits command execution inside that container.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
